After several postponements - due to inclement weather - the first Boeing 777X made its maiden flight on Saturday 25 January 2020.
The Boeing 777-9 is the first of the second generation Triple Sevens, featuring amongst others more slender wings with a wider wingspan. Because of this large wingspan the aircraft has foldable wingtips, just like the navy aircraft operating from aircraft carriers have. Another clear recognition point is the shark fin like vertical stabiliser, already known from the Boeong 787 Dreamliner. The first delivery is expected in 2021.
